Great Slave Animal Hospital - Yellowknife Veterinarian Clinic
Dear Valued Clients,
Effective Monday, February 28th, 2022 Great Slave Animal Hospital will be temporarily suspending after-hours and on-call Emergency Services. We understand that this is an enormous change, however we must call our capacity. We believe in providing the very best care for your animals and in order to continue to do so during clinic hours, we can no longer sustain emergency services as well. We will try our very best to accommodate every emergency we can during the business day. All possible emergencies will be triaged by a vet assistant and scheduled during the day or the following day, according to its priority level. All of our consultations are by appointment only, walk in appointments are not accepted.
For surgical bookings, we are fully booked up until the end of June. If you are looking to book a surgery and have already had a preop appointment, we can add you to the waiting list for July/August. We are very short staffed and trying to get more vets and technicians up north as soon as possible, despite a nation wide shortage.
Started in 1991, Great Slave Animal Hospital cares for animals in Yellowknife and throughout the surrounding communities of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. We advocate the respect and humane treatment of all animals by promoting responsible practices throughout every aspect of our services. Whether you own a dog, cat or exotic pet, we can help you ensure they remain healthy and happy.
