The North Country Stables is located on the outskirts of the city, next to the famous Yellowknife Golf Club. The property has four outdoor paddocks, an outdoor riding arena and many riding trails leading through the forested area. The stable building is heated and consists of 24 horse stalls, riding arena, locker room and tack room.
The horses at North Country Stables are a rich mix of different breeds. Some came from Poland, some from Iceland, some were abandoned and some were even born at the stables. We have some prestigious bloodlines amongst our brood, such as Opel, the offspring of the legendary Hunter/Jumper champion Hickstead. Dr. Pisz adores each and every horse in his stable, including the boarders who do not belong to him. It’s his job, his hobby and true passion.
